Listen now | This week, we went through all the links in Facebook’s new Widely Viewed Content Report. We also do a catchup on Musk Twitter drama and run through the complexities of World Cup viral content. And here’s the Everton fans video, here’s the Wall Street Journal
In Spanish we pronounce meme like "meh-meh" not "meem," so Copa de Meme does sound a lot better than Meme Cup!
To me, twitter today feels like the month after trump was elected. There's no hope anymore to use the site safely if you're a progressive activist. (as proven by some of the recent perma-bans against activist who chuds just @ daddy to) The massive exodus of employees that already know they're not regressive enough for the new regime also tells me that reporting isn't useful anymore as there's no team left or anyone left who can tell what homophobic and transphobic content is.
The only use for twitter now is for my lewd accounts, but even that is on thin ice. Those accounts have never been safe, but reactionaries are never known for stopping once they get rid of one type of people. :(
