Found your podcast because it was recommended on at least two of my favourite podcasts (Triple Click and Waypoint Radio, if I remember correctly) and loved every bit of it. Bummed out that it's coming to an end. But good for you for recognising that this isn't working anymore for you guys, I wish you all the success in the world for whatever comes next!
I'm happy to have been along for the ride. I was nodding my head in agreement as I listened to the episode because your comments reflected some of my own experience as a content creator. I wrote an email newsletter for 5 years and felt like I hit a decent middle ground with my audience numbers. What started out as a fun hobby project turned into what felt like a job with inadequate compensation at some point. I powered on for close to a year when that feeling started to take hold but was happy when I finally let the obligation go.
I gotta say I’m really sad about seeing the content mines go. I recently got into binging the bonus episodes, especially of those movies with no post credit scenes that I had never seen. I love listening to you two describe in awe how something either totally sucked or worked really well. Especially with movies I never wanted to see in the first place, like I would honestly rather listen to the two of you talk shit about it. It’s hard to explain but the premise of the show and your chemistry is just really really great. It just worked! I wish you would’ve stuck with a few things more consistently like calling the things not what they were but what you wanted. The spoiler songs! The bits here and there. Always saying how it made no sense to be a listener if you didn’t watch the movie for example even though it somehow did. Great work! Love it a lot! Very sad to see it go! Somehow understandable but still, come back Ryan and Luke 🤟❤️
